The Wicked Eye Meets Its Match in "Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions" Movie Teaser

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com

True love and delusional "psychic powers" are no match for turnstiles in the latest teaser trailer for Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions - Take on Me, an upcoming theatrical anime film that continues the teenage turmoil of the Dark Flame Master and wielder of the Wicked Eye from Torako's humorous light novel series.

The story of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions - Take on Me is set in the third and final year of high school, with Rikka Takanashi still suffering from a terminal case of "chunibyo". Her peaceful life with Yūta Togashi is disrupted when Tokka, Rikka's older sister, decides to take a job that will force the Takanashi family to re-locate to Italy. Since Yūta is in the middle of college entrance exams and doesn't want to be separated from his one true love (and the wielder of the "Wicked Eye"), Yūta and Rikka plan to elope to the Japanese countryside, and comic misadventures ensue.

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions - Take on Me is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and features animation by Kyoto Animaiton. The film hits theaters in Japan on January 06, 2018. The previous TV anime adaptations (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions - Heart Throb -) are currently available via streaming on Crunchyroll.

Kishibe Rohan Makes a Shōjo Manga Switcheroo

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com

The work of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki is nothing if not genre-bending, and now Araki plans to break new barriers with the latest chapter of his Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai ("Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan") series, which will see the Stand-wielding manga artist from Diamond is Unbreakable appearing in an format unlike any he's appeared in before: a shōjo manga publication.

That's right, the latest chapter of Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai is entitled "Episode #9 D・N・A", and it will be published in the September 2017 issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret shōjo manga magazine. Previous chapters have all been published in Shueisha releases aimed at young men, such as Weekly Shōnen Jump, Jump Square, and Shōnen Jump+.

The 50 page chapter revolves around a woman requesting help from Kishibe Rohan to deal with a strange phenomenon that has been manifesting around her young daughter. This marks the first time that Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai has been published in a magazine aimed at young women. The issue will include a sheet of Kishibe Rohan stickers as a bonus.

The September 2017 issue of Bessatsu Margaret will be published in Japan on August 12, 2017. It retails for 500 yen ($4.42 US) including tax.

Destination is a state of mind. A tale of one girl and her bike and the road ahead. Kino wanders around the world on the back of Hermes, her unusual, anthropomorphic motorcycle, only staying in each country for three days. During their adventures, they find happiness, sadness, pain, decadence, violence, beauty, and wisdom. But through it all, they never lose their sense of freedom. They discover that because of the world's imperfections, is is actually a thing of beauty. "The world is not beautiful, therefore it is."

Kino's Journey was previously adapted into a 2003 TV anime with direction by Ryūtarō Nakamura and animation by A.C.G.T.. The new Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- TV anime features direction by Tomohisa Taniguchi and animation by Lerche, and is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan in October of 2017.
